Secrets, Weapons, and Spells Checklist
Vlad's Gauntlet
Ring of the Phantom
Moose #10
Summon Death Spell
This area is tough to navigate, so I'll use the start location as your beacon. First, you have the option of taking Vlad's Gauntlet which was teleported with you. It will let you suck health from enemies and grants arcane immunity, but when it's working properly it also causes heals to damage you. That's not my cup of tea. Head northwest of the start location, and you can find the Ring of the Phantom, which is only really handy in multiplayer. It's wicked-slow and does knock down enemies. Think 'One Ring' -- it will make enemies ignore you if you're playing with a friend. The enemies in this area are the ghosts, but they won't deliberately attack you at this stage. You can kill them, but there's little point. When attacked, they'll take on a random elemental absorption, so they can be tricky to dispatch.
East of the starting location, you'll run into a large mass of rocks. Head a little southeast of that, where you can find Moose #10 (Screenshot above). Due north of the Moose, you'll find the exit (a Bridge).
The undead town doesn't have to be hard. Each of the enemies in this area will spawn with an element. Use the opposite against them, in projectile form. Arcane=Life, Electricity = Water, Fire=Frost, Frost=Fire. They should die in a single shot from each (Use more Earth to increase the size of the shot, and thus damage). After not too many of these, you'll meet up with Future Vlad who advises you to try to talk to Death reasonably (after previously scolding you for not doing so with his Past self).
Boss Fight Strategy: Death
This boss fight can be kind of tough. It's much different from what you're used to. Death can go incorporeal like the Demons you've fought before. In fact, most of the time he is. Only when he's about to attack or cast will he be targetable. He will summon elemental skeletons to attack you, like the ones in the previous village. They are very simple to handle: Simply cast S-E, Space to destroy them all. Do this immediately when they spawn.
First of all, don't bother with the personal shield, as Death will pierce it and kill you in a single blow. Use a single Life element (will produce a beam) and keep track of where Death is when he moves in for his regular attack (Which is fatal). If you cast the beam the moment he materializes, you can stop him from attacking. He's also vulnerable as he casts his mirror image spell and summons the elementals. Be sure you attack AFTER he materializes. This can be a little buggy if not sometimes he'll go right through the beam despite being solid. Hold the Life beam and get in as much damage as you can each time. You'll peak at about 1800, meaning you'd have to do this 6 times to defeat him.
As Death grows weaker, he'll start doing a somewhat annoying attack. He'll spawn multiple copies of himself (which do no damage). Dealing with this is quite simple. Keep Life elements ready, and press Shift+Rightclick as soon as they draw back to attack. When the real death attacks, you'll deal a little damage.
After your victory, you'll earn the Summon Death spell. Death is a cool guy after all.
