Quest Start: Mayor MacCready from Little Lamplight: Note that this is not an official part of the Main Quest but for many players it will be.
If you want to enslave people, or pay a tax to enter Paradise Falls, more power to you. I am mostly writing this quest for Good Karma and consider that most players will be quite powerful enough to kill all the slavers in the camp. Instead of paying 500 caps, you can get all the Raiders' loot! I shot the guard dead then went right in. If you encounter any slaves with slave collars around their necks that are attacking you, put them out of their misery. The bright side, for Good Karma characters, is that killing many of the named slavers here results in a Karma boost. You can also gain a lot of experience by killing them. Look for good items like Chinese Assault Rifles, Super Sledgehammers, and even Miniguns and Combat Armor among the raiders' bodies. In Eulogy Jones' Pad, you can even find the Speech Bobblehead.
If you decided to raid the place, be sure to do it thoroughly. There is a clinic where you can find free medical supplies, along with some other notable areas. The Slave Pens are on the southern side. Let them all free, as best you can. The children will opt to meet you outside the town. Once the place is clear, naturally you should leave. Follow your waypoint rather than just exiting the town. I have found that one of the kids gets stuck near the gate and can't get out. You can finish the quest there if it happens, otherwise you must go outside the city. Once it's done, you can return to Little Lamplight to be given access to Vault 87. I recommend using Murder Pass for the experience.
